The Word

Living in the word

Joshua 1:8 NKJV~ This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

I pray you are all doing well and keeping safe in this season that we are in. My prayer is that we are getting to spend more time in the presence of God by dwelling in His word,in prayer and exalting His name.

Like I mentioned in my last post (link here), the Lord is asking us to spend more time reading the Bible. As I was lying in bed last Sunday planning my schedule for the coming week, the Lord impressed upon me the need to spend even more time than I already was studying His Word.  I remember thinking, “How God?” considering the fact that my week was packed and so I was trying to plan how I would manage to squeeze in extra time. Little did I know that in a few hours our government would announce restrictions in movement.

So our God in all His wisdom knew that restrictions would be put in place by various governments thus giving us more time indoors and the perfect opportunity to fellowship with Him. So all our excuses are now gone.

How often do you read your Bible?

If you have been doing it once a day, increase this as the Holy Spirit leads you. If you have been studying your Bible twice (that’s great) but increase your frequency. We have all the time anyway. Let’s spend hours in the Word.  Let’s worship our King in this season. Let’s call out to Him.

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. ~ Psalm 34:3-4

Switch off your televisions

Beloved, now is not the time to be watching and consuming bad news from TV and social media.

We are living in the information age and while it has its advantages it also has its fair share of disadvantages, one of them being fake news. Which means we are prone to alot of deception. The only TRUTH is found in His word and as interpreted by the Holy Spirit who is the spirit of truth. In order to keep us from falling into deception, we need to be in God’s presence and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. ~ John 17:17 NLT

Now is the time to get in the presence of God through more prayer, bible reading and worship.

God wants to speak to us through His word. He wants to encourage us. He wants to reveal His mysteries to us.

Losing Hope?

The Lord has also placed it in my heart to pray for hope amongst His children for many are getting hopeless. Let’s pray for each other; pray for your pastors, for the church and for the nations as well.

That none shall lose hope and give up on God.

And that the Lord’s will shall be done in this season, that His purposes and plans shall stand
