The Attitude of Gratitude

Well hello and Happy New Month! Wow, we are coming to the close of yet another year and for those that had resolutions, I hope you all managed to actualize them.

We’ve not just come to the end of another year, but this is the end of a decade. Honestly, I’m so excited!  I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for me and His church come this new decade.

So I thought, why not reflect on the goodness of God not only in this last year, but also in this last decade.

Why should we give thanks?

Some may wonder, what’s the point in thanking God? Maybe for some of you the year has been rough, and you feel like there’s nothing to be grateful for. However, we must remember that through it all, God has been good. He’s kept us through the years even when it looked like all was lost, He fought for us, held our hand and saw us through what was meant to destroy us.

Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.~ PSALMS 23:4 AMP

A few weeks ago, I had the idea to list all the things that God has done for me this year. Do you know that I ended up compiling a list of 4 pages of things that God has done for me this year? And that’s what I could remember because I’m pretty sure that there’s  alot I had forgotten to list down.
Brothers and sisters, remember what the Lord has done for you and thank Him. The year may not have panned out how you would’ve liked it to, but God knew that you are exactly where you are supposed to be as long as you have been walking in obedience to Him.

We don’t thank God because things went our way, we thank Him because He is God who is Faithful and True.

Today, I ask you to remember all that He’s done for you, write it down if need be, and take some time to thank Him for His goodness in your life.

Also, take time to pray for the new decade, for His will to be done in your life, and His leading in all you do.
